Calvin L. Walker, 87 of Miami, Okla. passed from this life August 15, 2012.
Calvin was born in Picher, Okla. and graduated from Columbus High School. He was a combat Veteran of WWII serving on a destroyer in both the Atlantic and Pacific. He was a member of the Roseburg, Ore. Masonic Lodge and was an Honorary Member of the Modoc Tribe. He loved fishing and the Indian crafts and culture.
Calvin married Wilma H. Bellm Shadwick in Baxter Springs, Kan., May 16, 1953. She preceded him in death.
He is survived by one sister and numerous children and grandchildren.
Rev. Claude Craig will officiate the memorial graveside service at the Modoc Cemetery at 9:30 a.m., September 6, 2012. The cemetery is located East of Miami on Hwy 10c to 679 Road and then South.
Calvin requested in Lieu of flowers that donations be made to the Modoc Cemetery Perpetual care fund in care of the Modoc Tribe, 418 G. Street, Miami, OK 74354.
