Aged Indian Woman Dies At Home Here
Kaunthaft, known to white friends as "Josie" and a familiar figure here since the town started, died at her home two miles northeast Friday. She had suffered a broken leg early in life and was never able to walk well. She was often seen sitting on sidewalks or on the floor in stores while she did her trading.
She was the wife of the aged Togamote, "Blue Jay" and is related to many other local Indians.
Funeral services were held at the home Saturday afternoon by Rev. Mathew Botone with burial made in a private cemetery.
Obit provided by Lillian.
