Bertha Marguerite (Fields) Teel
GROVE, Okla. --- Bertha Marguerite (Fields) Teel, 89, died Wednesday night, February 15, 2006 at St. John Medical Center, Tulsa, Okla.
Bertha was born January 22, 1917 at Dodge, Okla. to Earl Fields and Ora Ethel (Hopkins) Fields. She attended Dodge and Grove public schools. In 1942, she went to Aircraft School in Tulsa and then worked for Douglas Aircraft. Bertha also worked on the Sugar Rationing Board and sold U. S. Savings Bonds. She worked for Tri-State Gas Company and Union Gas Company in Grove and Teel Construction Company. In 1968, Bertha began working for Grove Egg Company as bookkeeper and continued until she retired in 1982. She was a charter member of the Dodge Baptist Church, where she taught Sunday school and Vacation Bible School, and was a member of Grove's Business and Professional Women's Club.
Survivors are two daughters, Sharon Keasler and her husband, Bob, and Janet Stover and her husband, Dub, all of Tulsa; one brother, Eldo Fields of Grove; one sister, Leta Harrison, also of Grove; and four grandsons, David, Mack, Jeff and Zach Stover, all of Tulsa. Bertha was preceded in death by her parents and by a brother, James Earl Fields.
Funeral services for Bertha Teel will be 2 p.m., Monday, February 20, at Dodge Baptist Church, six miles east of Grove on South 690 Road, with Pastors Loyd Crawford and Gene Schmeling officiating. Interment will be in Fields Cemetery, located one mile south of the church, under the direction of Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home, Grove. The family will receive friends from 4-6 p.m., Sunday, at Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home, Grove. Donations may be made to the Lottie Moon Missions Offering in care of Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home, 711 South Main, Grove, OK 74344.
