Mrs. Lydia R. Weldon departed this life last Friday, March 9, 1917, at the home of her son, John Weldon, in this city after a long and lingering illness at the age of 74 years. The funeral was held at the home on Saturday, March 10th, at three o'clock, conducted by Rev. Theodore F. Brewer of Eufaula, formerly pastor of the M. E. church South of this city, of which she had long been a faithful and consistent member. Interment was made in Elmwood Cemetery, the remains being followed to the last resting place by a large congregation of loving friends. Mrs. Weldon was a pioneer resident of Wagoner, having lived here the last 19 years. She was a thoroughly good woman, a good neighbor, a good friend, a good mother, a woman of good words and deeds, patient, loving and forgiving. Her husband, Martin Weldon, preceded her in death, November 14, 1913, and since that time she had made her home with her son, John Weldon. Two other sons and two daughters; Mrs. R. J. Butler and Elias Weldon of this city, and Mrs. Katherine Gray and Will Weldon of Breckenridge, Missouri are left to mourn the loss of a loved and loving mother. To them, many friends subscribe a sincere sympathy.
