Funeral services for Genevieve Janelle Sanchez, 69, long time Carnegie
resident, were held at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 16, 2007 at Cedar Creek Methodist Church in Carnegie with Rev Tim Yeahquo, Rev Mike Svitak and Rev Gerald Haunpo officiating.
A wake service was held Monday, October 15, 2007 at Ray and Martha's Funeral Home Chapel in Carnegie. She was born April 13, 1938 in Lawton to Walden and Ivy (Satepauhoodle) Ware and died Friday, October 12, 2007 in Oklahoma City.
She married Jesus L Sanchez on August 26, 1964 in Ozona, Texas and he preceded her in death in 1987. She was a member of the Kiowa Tribe and the Cedar Creek United Methodist Church where she as active in the UMW (United Methodist Women) in Carnegie. She grew up in Carnegie and attended Carnegie Schools. Janelle was a member of the Kiowa War Mothers. Her faith in Christ was exemplified throughout her life. Her favorite past time was spending time with her grandchildren and attending sporting events.
She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; four brothers, Timothy "Toby" Ware, David "Booty" Ware, Virgil "Porky" Ware and Marland Koomsa; one sister, Dorothy June Ware; one daughter, Nancy K Proctor; and one grandson, John Michael Svitak.
Survivors include four daughters, Dorothy Proctor Hall and husband Wayne of Everett, Washington, Ivy Yeahquo and husband Tim of Yukon, Robbin Sanders and husband Rrett of Anadarko; three sons, Robert Burcum, Sr and wife Misty of Carnegie, Christ Sanchez and wife Elana of Lawton and Cedric Sanchez of Carnegie; two sisters, Ernestine Hernasy and husband Richard of Carnegie and Francis Bailey and husband John of Carnegie; 17 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Burial was in the Satepauhoodle Family Cemetery in Carnegie under the direction of Ray and Martha's Funeral Home of Carnegie.
