1855 - 1895
Nero B. Jones, #1490 of the Eufaula Tribal Town roll of the Creek Nation, was the owner and operator of the Arbeka Town General Store. He and his wife Lucinda Cox Jones were the parents of six known children.
Among those children was Amanda Jones Frank. To protect the sovereignty of the Frank/Davis Cemetery, in 1902 Amanda chose as a portion of her allotment land, the section in which the cemetery was located. This cemetery was in use prior to 1874. Nero B. Jones was among the earlier burials in this Cemetery in the late 1800's.
Nero B. Jones has no grave marker. His death and burial location was noted in the Indian Pioneer History from the Oklahoma Historical Society. Amanda Jones Frank, Nero's daughter, gave an interview to Billie Byrd, the field worker of the Works Progress Administration, regarding the conditions and number of burials in the Frank/Davis Cemetery. The interview was held on March 17, 1938.
