COLCORD, Okla. — Bernice Swicegood, 85, lifelong resident of Colcord, Olda., died Aug. 22, 2010, at The Maples, Springdale, Ark. Born Aug. 26, 1924, in Cleveland, Okla., she was the daughter of Bruce Caywood and Margaret Martin Caywood.

She served as president of the Colcord PTA and was an active member of the Colcord Chamber of Commerce. Bernice was active in church activities. She taught Sunday school classes and was the church pianist. She was a homemaker and a member of the First Baptist Church of Kansas, Okla. She loved her family and enjoyed singing and playing the piano, as well as gardening.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Boyd L. Swicegood; and two brothers, Lloyd Caywood and Dale Caywood.

Survivors include three daughters, Brenda Luper of Rogers, Ark., Elaine Walker of Springdale, Ark. and Kay Parmain of Colcord, Okla.; one son, Ronald Boyd Swicegood of Colcord, Okla.; one brother, Elzie Caywood of Colcord, Okla.; eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 25, 2010, at Wasson Memorial Chapel, Siloam Springs, Ark., with Pastor Ralph Walker officiating. Burial will follow at Row Cernetery, Colcord, Okla.
